Paint Standards - Module
A single module from the Essentials of Paint and Painting Technology full course.

- Time: Approximately 1 hour to read through.
- Content: The content is separated in sections, with a brief knowledge check at the end of each section.
- Outcome: One Professional Development Hour (PDH) will be awarded, document available to download after completion.
If you go on to complete all 8 modules within a two-year period, you will be provided the option to purchase the Level 1 Essentials of Paint and Painting Technology Exam. Which, if successful, would give you the certification Architectural Coatings Technologist (ACT), a recognized certification in the commercial/architectural coatings industry and the prerequisite to the level 2 and 3 coatings specifications courses offered by MPI.
Topics Covered:
- Discussion of the MPI standards including: gloss levels, green performance, product standards, MPI repaint surface preparation standards, etc.
- Brief overview of the SSPC/NACE/AMPP surface preparation standards.
- Description of the PCA paint and wall-covering standards.
- Description of the ASTM levels of drywall finish.
