Paint Safety - Module
A single module from the Essentials of Paint and Painting Technology full course.
- Access: Online, must be completed within two weeks after purchase.
- Time: Approximately 1 hour to read through.
- Content: The content is separated in sections, with a brief knowledge check at the end of each section.
- Outcome: One Professional Development Hour (PDH) will be awarded, document available to download after completion.
If you go on to complete all 8 modules within a two-year period, you will be provided the option to purchase the Level 1 Essentials of Paint and Painting Technology Exam. Which, if successful, would give you the certification Architectural Coatings Technologist (ACT), a recognized certification in the commercial/architectural coatings industry and the prerequisite to the level 2 and 3 coatings specifications courses offered by MPI.

- Product Safety – description of an SDS (Safety Data Sheet)
- Best practices for safe use of different types of access equipment and ladders
- Personal Protection including: head, ear, eye, body, hands, feet and respiratory
- Best practices for storage, handling and transport of paint
- Lead-based paint and the roles and responsibilities involved in its removal
- Potential safety hazards including fire and electrical.
