- Outcome: One Professional Development Hour (PDH) will be awarded, document available to download after completion.
If you go on to complete all 8 modules within a two-year period, you will be provided the option to purchase the Level 1 Essentials of Paint and Painting Technology Exam. Which, if successful, would give you the certification Architectural Coatings Technologist (ACT), a recognized certification in the commercial/architectural coatings industry and the prerequisite to the level 2 and 3 coatings specifications courses offered by MPI.

- Discussion on how paint is actually made, including:
- How and why coatings are made in “batches,” what’s on batch cards, and the importance of batch numbers
- The equipment used to mix and produce paint
- The quality control tests and procedures used throughout the paint manufacturing process: why they’re necessary and how they’re done
